How to change MOTD

Learn how to change your Minecraft server MOTD in server.properties via the FPS.ms panel, then restart to show a custom message to players.

By default, your server will have a default MOTD such as Free Server Supplied by FPS.ms, though you can change this anytime to whatever you want.

  1. Open your browser and go to https://panel.fps.ms.
  2. Select your server and go to the Files tab.
  3. Find the file named server.properties and open it.
  4. Update a line called motd to whatever you want and click Save content.
  5. Restart your server.
