Questions about Free Rust Hosting

We've put our frequently asked questions right here, so you have your answers before you even start.

Still have questions or just want to chat?

Where can I host Rust for free?

Here! The free plan runs one Rust bot or app with 128 MB of RAM around the clock, as long as you press Renew once a day.

How much fits in 128 MB?

A bot, a status checker or a small API. Rust needs little memory to run, but compiling takes more, and the build folder counts toward your 250 MB of storage. A project with a few crates builds fine; for a big dependency tree, upload a compiled binary or pick a paid plan.

Does it really run 24/7?

Yes. The container never sleeps, and if your app crashes it starts again by itself. All you do is renew the free plan in the panel once a day.

Is this a VPS?

No, FPS.ms does not offer VPS hosting. Your Rust application runs in a container managed by FPS.ms. This means you never have to update its operating system, install security patches or keep the machine running yourself.

Can I upload a compiled binary?

Yes! Build it for Linux (x86_64) on your own machine, upload it and set it as your Executable. Without a Cargo.toml in the folder, your server runs it as it is.

Can people reach my app from the internet?

Yes! Every free server gets its own Public URL with HTTPS, like rusty-crane.hostedbyfps.com, so a small API or webhook works on the free plan.

What are the limits?

128 MB of RAM, 25% of one CPU core and 250 MB of storage. The free plan has no database and no backup slot.

What if I forget to renew?

Your app stops until you renew it. Renew within 28 days to bring it back with all your files; after that, the server is removed.

How do I move to a paid plan?

Upgrade from the panel and keep your files and settings. Paid Rust hosting adds memory, CPU, a MariaDB database and backups.

Ready to run your Rust app for free?

Deploy your first Container for free. Upgrade if you need GitHub Deploys, more resources or a database.
