Questions about Free Odin Hosting

We've put our frequently asked questions right here, so you have your answers before you even start.

Still have questions or just want to chat?

Where can I host Odin for free?

Here! The free plan runs one Odin server or tool with 128 MB of RAM around the clock, as long as you press Renew once a day.

How much fits in 128 MB?

More than you might think. Odin compiles to a small native program, so a game backend, a websocket server or a tool fits easily on the free plan.

Does it really run 24/7?

Yes. The container never sleeps, and if your app crashes it starts again by itself. All you do is renew the free plan in the panel once a day.

Is this a VPS?

No, FPS.ms does not offer VPS hosting. Your Odin application runs in a container managed by FPS.ms. This means you never have to update its operating system, install security patches or keep the machine running yourself.

How is my app built?

Your server runs odin build on your package when it starts, with -o:speed by default. On 25% of one CPU core, give it a few extra seconds.

Can people reach my app from the internet?

Yes! Every free server gets its own Public URL with HTTPS, like frost-raven.hostedbyfps.com, so a small API or websocket server works on the free plan.

What are the limits?

128 MB of RAM, 25% of one CPU core and 250 MB of storage. The free plan has no database and no backup slot.

What if I forget to renew?

Your app stops until you renew it. Renew within 28 days to bring it back with all your files; after that, the server is removed.

How do I move to a paid plan?

Upgrade from the panel and keep your files and settings. Paid Odin hosting adds memory, CPU, a MariaDB database and backups.

Deploy your first Container for free. Upgrade if you need GitHub Deploys, more resources or a database.
