Questions about Python Hosting
We've put our frequently asked questions right here, so you have your answers before you even start.
Still have questions or just want to chat?
How can I run a Python script continuously?
Deploy your container, upload your code, add your Environment Variables and start your server: that's it! Your Python application keeps running, even if your computer is offline.
Is this a VPS?
No, FPS.ms does not offer VPS hosting. Your Python application runs in a container managed by FPS.ms. This means you never have to update its operating system, install security patches or keep the machine running yourself.
Which Python versions can I run?
Python 3.7 through 3.13, and you can switch between them whenever you like.
How do my packages get installed?
Automatically! Your server installs everything in your requirements.txt when it starts.
Can I host a FastAPI or Flask API?
Yes. An API built with FastAPI, Flask or aiohttp answers at an https:// address on hostedbyfps.com, and paid plans can pick the name or connect a domain. For a PHP website, web hosting is the better fit.
What about background workers and scheduled jobs?
They fit well. A queue worker, a sync job, or a task that runs every few minutes keeps going around the clock, and if it crashes it starts again on its own.
Can I deploy from a Git repository?
Yes, on paid plans. Connect GitHub and every push to your branch deploys, private repositories included. On the free plan, upload your code through the file manager or SFTP.
Do paid plans include a database?
Yes, every paid plan from 256 MB includes a MariaDB database.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. It has 128 MB of RAM, which fits a small script or bot. Free Python hosting explains what it includes.
Where are the servers?
On hardware we own in The Hague, so apps that serve people in Europe stay close to them.
Ready to deploy your Python application?
Start free. Add GitHub deploys, a database and your own domain when your application grows.
