How do I connect my app to PostgreSQL?
Deploy your database, create a database and a user, and copy the connection URL into your app: easy as that!
Are connections encrypted?
Yes. Your database only accepts TLS connections, with a certificate your app can verify.
Which apps and libraries work with it?
Anything that speaks PostgreSQL, like Prisma, node-postgres and psql.
Can I move my existing database to FPS.ms?
Yes. Dumps made with pg_dump import with psql or pg_restore, so you can bring your tables and data with you.
Which extensions can I use?
Popular extensions like pgcrypto, pg_trgm, uuid-ossp, citext, hstore and unaccent. pgvector and PostGIS are not available.
Is this a VPS?
No, FPS.ms does not offer VPS hosting. Your database runs in a container managed by FPS.ms. This means you never have to update its operating system, install security patches or keep the machine running yourself.
How does the free plan work?
A free database has to be renewed every day to stay online, and at least once every 28 days to keep its data. More details on the Free PostgreSQL Database page.
How much memory does my database need?
Small projects run fine on our free plan. For apps with daily users, 512 MB to 1 GB of memory is the sweet spot. Need more? Contact us for a custom plan.
Do paid plans include backups?
Yes, every paid plan from 256 MB includes a backup slot, and you can restore it from the panel.
